THE HOME GUIDE SYSTEM - SECTION 2.0 - EXTERIOR |
EXTERIOR INSPECTION OVERVIEW |
The exterior inspection starts with the surface materials. From EIFS to composite wood, the exterior inspection covers it all. All aspects of the exterior inspection procedure are noted. This gives the client a clear understanding of what is included in the inspection. For example, crawl space ventilation, proper grading, proper flashing, etc.
The exterior inspection also includes an outbuildings/garage section. From fences to the deck this report leaves no stone unturned.
FOUR-PART EXTERIOR INSPECTION FORM |
Here are just a few of the many elements covered in the exterior inspection: nearly 20 different types of surface materials, multiple yard conditions, patios, docks and over 100 other critical elements. A scaled grid is available on the inspection form if a visible diagram is needed to indicate the location of an issue. Of course the addendum is available if extra space is needed for the exterior inspection notes, or for that matter, any other part of the report. |
MAINTENANCE TIPS |
Within the exterior section the client will find monthly, seasonal and annual maintenance tips. Often times, the simple things that take only minutes to check get left out of our busy schedules. The Home Guide includes a practical list of recommendations for the exterior of any home. While the inspection company cannot be assured these recommendations are followed, an annual courtesy call by the inspection company offering their services would be wise.
CROSS REFERENCE GLOSSARY FOR EXTERIOR INSPECTION |
The exterior section includes a 16-page cross-reference glossary with diagrams and actual photos. The client will find this very helpful when reviewing the report. In conclusion the glossary provides accurate descriptions of every item listed on the exterior inspection form, is easy to read and designed to be a resource that anyone can understand. |
