THE HOME GUIDE SYSTEM - SECTION 7.0 - APPLIANCES |
|
APPLIANCES INSPECTION OVERVIEW |
We feel that the basic purpose of the appliance inspection is to determine if the appliance and/or equipment works as intended, based on normal homeowner operation. The Home Guide Report System provides a very detailed inspection guideline, but we make it clear in the report that it is beyond the scope of the inspection to make an analysis of methods of, or the cost of repair, etc.

FOUR-PART APPLIANCES INSPECTION FORM |
The VISIBLE CONDITIONS checklist alone provides the inspector with over 40 items, and you can be assured the entire inspection form will more than meet your needs. Here are just a few of the many elements covered in the appliance inspection: water heater and associated equipment, water management systems, all appliances, pool/spa, well, sprinkler systems, etc. Of course the addendum is available if extra space is needed for the appliance inspection notes, or for that matter, any other part of the report.

MAINTENANCE TIPS |
We provide the client or inspector with a great information resource in the appliance section. It is called "Typical Power and Current for Household Appliances." This gives a clear comparison of amps compared to watts. This will help pinpoint areas of concern for immediate problems when a weak amperage reading is taken and give the client a better understanding of the cost of electricity.

CROSS REFERENCE GLOSSARY FOR APPLIANCE INSPECTION |
In the 15-page glossary section you will find specific appliances with examples of typical issues that would prevent normal operation at the time of the inspection, or in the future. For example: a typical aged water heater may be working at the present time, but can pose a number of problems in the future and we identify what to look for if the appliance is stable but well-aged. From a heat pump to the doorbell, the glossary clearly defines normal issues associated with appliances of all types. |
